HOW TO GET HERE BY CAR

When driving from the A8, AP1 and N1, there is no need to go into the city. If you are coming to San Sebastian from France, take the Gi-40 towards N-I/Irun/Altza/Donostia Ekialde/San Sebastian Este/Intxaurrondo, joining the Gi-40 towards Hernani/Martutene as far as the Sarrueta roundabout. At this roundabout the access road to the hostel is signposted (signs with yellow background).

If you are coming to San Sebastian from Madrid, at the Andoain exit take the new Gi-41 motorway to Martutene, Polígono 27, and from the Sarrueta roundabout, the access road to the hostel is signposted (signs with yellow background).

In the city, from Pío XII Square (Amara district), the signs (with a yellow background) show the route to the hostel (Pío XII – Anoeta football stadium – Loiola district – Txomin Enea/Txomin district – Camino de Uba).

HOW TO GET HERE FROM AIRPORTS
  • Biarritz Airport – San Sebastian
    There is a daily direct bus service from the company PESA at 3.30pm (www.pesa.net). It arrives at the San Sebastian bus station at 4.15pm (check arrival time at the bus station beforehand, it varies depending on the time of year).
    If this timetable does not fit in with your arrival time, there is another option via Hendaye.
  • Biarritz Airport – Hendaye – San Sebastian
    The company ATCRB’s regular bus line (no. 876 or 875) links the airport with Hendaye train station.
    At the Euskotren station (next to the TGV) there is a train that runs to the INTXAURRONDO station in San Sebastian (www.euskotren.es).
    When you leave the metro station, cross the dual carriageway, Otxoki Pasealekua, walk to the left until you reach the entrance to Ametzagaina Park and the pedestrian signs (in green) show the route to our hostel (10 minutes).
  • San Sebastian Airport (Hondarribia – San Sebastian)
    There is an E21 bus service from the airport to the city centre, stopping at Plaza Gipuzkoa (www.ekialdebus.net). Plaza Gipuzkoa is located between the Boulevard and Avenida de la Libertad. From Avenida de la Libertad, take the number 33 bus to the Otxoki Pasealekua stop. On the right-hand side of the bus stop is the entrance to Ametzagaina Park. At the entrance to the park the pedestrian signs (in green) show the route to our hostel (10 minutes).
  • Bilbao Airport (Loiu – San Sebastian)
    There is a direct bus service to San Sebastian bus station that is run by the company PESA (www.pesa.net). It takes 1 hour and 50 minutes. When you get to the station, follow the steps in the following section (Arrivals at San Sebastian bus station).
HOW TO GET HERE ON BUSES AND TRAINS (RENFE)

OPTION 1
When you leave the underground bus station, or the train station, you will find yourself next to the Maria Cristina Bridge. Walk for 5 minutes, crossing the Maria Cristina Bridge to Avenida de la Libertad. Take the no. 33 bus from the stop at 21 Avenida de la Libertad and get off at the Otxoki bus stop. From Paseo de Otxoki take the path on the left after the children’s playground, this path is painted with white stripes and crosses the park until you reach the hill behind the hostel. It takes 5 minutes on foot.

The bus ticket costs €1.70 and the last bus leaves from the centre at 9.20pm.

OPTION 2
Go through the underground tunnel under the train station. This tunnel takes you to Paseo del Duque de Mandas. Catch the no. 9 bus at the stop outside the Tabakalera. Get off at the stop at 28 Galizia and walk along Calle Castilla Kalea until you reach Paseo de Otxoki. Cross the zebra crossing and take the path on the left hand side after the playground, this path is painted with white stripes and goes through the park. When you reach the highest point, take the path from the centre down the hill behind the hostel. It takes 5 minutes on foot.

The bus ticket costs €1.70 and the last bus leaves from the Boulevard 23:00.

HOW TO GET HERE FROM THE CITY

From different parts of the city (Plaza Easo, Anoeta Stadium, Loiola, Herrera) you can reach the Green Nest Donostia – Uba Aterpetxea on the new San Sebastian metro line (destination stop = INTXAURRONDO).

When you leave the metro station, cross the dual carriageway, Otxoki Pasealekua, walk to the left until you reach the entrance to Ametzagaina Park and the pedestrian signs (in green) show the route to our hostel (10 minutes).

In the Amara district, at 10 Avenida de Madrid, you will find the stop for the no. 24 bus, which runs to the Otxoki Pasealekua bus stop. On the right-hand side of the bus stop is the entrance to Ametzagaina Park.
